A research study evaluated the NHIP AI assistant

A new research study by authors from the IBA at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, evaluated a prototype AI assistant based on educational and popular science content from the National Health Information Portal (NZIP) and showed that linking generative AI with verified health content can significantly enhance the credibility of the information provided.

A student of the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University won an award for the best abstract at an international public health conference

Researchers from the IBA at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, achieved success at the 11th International Digital Public Health Conference 2026 in Barcelona. Graduate student Hlib Aleksandrenko and his advisor, Martin Komenda, received an award for the best scientific abstract.

Award for the Development of Social Services Presented to Prof. Ladislav Dušek, Head of the IBA at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University

Professor Ladislav Dušek received the annual award from the Association of Social Service Providers, primarily for his contribution to the ELFis (End of Life Care Information System) project—an information system designed to help optimize social, health, and palliative care services.

We presented our results at the SESAM 2024 Congress

The topic of data-driven decision-making was presented by the head of DDT IBA FM MU at the global conference of the European Society for Simulation in Medicine (SESAM). A digital poster with a presentation presented the experience with the introduction of data as an objective and valid basis for further decision-making in medical education at LF MU.

MEFANET for the sixteenth time: Artificial intelligence in medical education, virtual reality and book launch

For the first time in history, the 16th MEFANET conference was held outside the Czech Republic in the Slovak Congress Hotel Centrum in Košice. The whole event was held in the spirit of artificial intelligence in medical education, virtual reality and there were also short presentations by regular participants about their improvement and modernization of teaching.

Over the past three years, not only has a wave of severe respiratory disease swept over virtually all of human civilization, but also a wave of vast amounts of information related to it. A new book by Václav Moravec and Ladislav Dušek deals with this phenomenon that accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic and often caused more damage than the virus alone.
