Educational activities
The Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses at the Faculty of Medicine of the Masaryk University (IBA FM MU) provides teaching in a number of courses for students of the faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science of the Masaryk University, namely in the areas of analysis and modelling of biological and medical data, clinical trials and applied informatics. Electronic teaching materials are available for many of these courses.
IBA FM MU also guarantees the study programme Public Health offered by the Masaryk University and, together with the Research Centre for Toxic Compounds in the Environment (RECETOX), it is involved in carrying out the study programme Computational Biology and Biomedicine. These study programmes aim to train a new type of professionals who will have knowledge and qualification not only in mathematics and information technology, but also in biology, ecology and medicine.
Furthermore, IBA FM MU is a member of the MEFANET (MEdical FAculties NETwork), which aims to build and to strengthen cooperation among medical faculties and healthcare faculties in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, particularly as regards the development in education using modern information and communication technology.
