Data basis and background information for the assessment of volume and quality of care in municipal hospitals

Data basis and background information for the assessment of volume and quality of care in municipal hospitals

Contracting authority: Brno City Municipality

The primary objective of the project was to develop a data basis for the assessment of care provided in the Trauma Hospital of Brno and in the Brothers of Mercy Hospital. Long-term sustainability and easy updatability of this system were among the requirements. Mapping of hospital admissions, indications for hospitalisation as well as sources of epidemiological burden and treatment burden was designed in the above-mentioned hospitals in a way that would make it possible to carry out these processes internally, i.e. by processing secured data from the hospital information systems. The secondary objective of the project was to develop an information platform which would make it possible to perform comparative assessment (benchmarking) of municipal hospitals in Brno, both on the map of hospitalisation care in Brno and in the South Moravian Region in general.
