The Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI) aims to improve the quality of cancer care and translational research in Europe. IBA FM MU is the only member of this organisation whose primary activity does not involve the provision of cancer care.
MEFANET (MEdical FAculties NETwork) is a project aiming to build and to strengthen cooperation among medical faculties and healthcare faculties in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, particularly as regards the development in education using modern information and communication technology. IBA FM MU has developed a unified platform intended to share teaching materials among faculties and organises the MEFANET conference each year. Assoc.
The Czech Society for Oncology (CSO) is an expert society of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyne (CMA JEP), which associates experts in the field of oncology and seeks to improve care provided to cancer patients, among other objectives. In the long term, IBA FM MU cooperates with CSO on the development of background information for cancer care in the Czech Republic, including the evaluation of cancer epidemiology, long-term survival of cancer patients, cancer screening programmes as well as the effectiveness of modern therapeutic approaches.
The Innovative Partnership for Action Against Cancer (iPAAC) Joint Action brings together 24 partners across Europe whose main objectives are to build upon deliverables of the CANCON Joint Action and to implement innovative approaches to cancer control. The joint workplace of IBA FM MU and IHIS CR is mainly responsible for the management of the work package No. 2, i.e. communication and dissemination of results, but participates in other activities as well.
The Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (IHIS CR) is an organisational unit of the state and has been established by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. Based on a contract between the IHIS CR and the Masaryk University, a joint workplace of IHIS CR and IBA FM MU was established, involving mainly a team of data analysts and a team of web designers.
Cochrane Czech Republic is the Czech representative of an international non-profit organisation Cochrane, which conducts systematic reviews of healthcare interventions and diagnostic tests and publishes them in the Cochrane Library. The Cochrane Collaboration involves more than 13,000 members from 130 countries worldwide, aiming to provide trustworthy healthcare information that is accessible to members of the general public.
The centre focuses on the creation of systematic reviews (SR), which are only based on exact and rigorous scientific methods for the identification, selection and evaluation of results of primary research in a very specific domain. In cooperation with its foreign partners, the centre contributes to the development of methodology to create higher-level systematic reviews (mixed-methods SR, umbrella SR, diagnostic accuracy SR, expert opinion SR).
